"Save Our Soul" Nigerian Traders Beg For Evacuation From Ghana

Not less than 753 Nigerians living in Ghana, mostly traders, have asked to return home.

The Nigerian Traders' Association in Ghana said diplomatic relations between Nigeria and Ghana had failed. Traders said their landlords demanded rent, even though the shops remained locked.

In a “Save our Soul” letter to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, they claimed they were dying under the heavy yoke the Ghanaian authorities placed on them.

"We therefore call on our government to take the necessary steps to organize and begin the immediate evacuation of our members and investments from Ghana," he said.

Ukaoha called on the federal government to take the necessary steps to work with the relevant Ghanaian authorities to ensure that their goods and property are safely returned to Nigeria.

"There are about 753 Nigerian traders ready to come home as the first batch of evacuees from Ghana," he said

The Government should please start working on this case before things go out of hands
